Contest Information (west coast swing)

Levels are determined by West Coast Swing Dance Council (WSDC) registry points.

• Newcomer
  Open to dancers who are not competing in Novice and who have no Newcomer points (and no Novice points).
   
• Novice
  Open to dancers with fewer than 30 Novice points who are not competing in Intermediate.
   
• Intermediate
  Open to dancers with at least 16 Novice points and fewer than 45 Intermediate points
  (and no Advanced points).
   
• Advanced
  Open to dancers with at least 30 Intermediate points and fewer than 90 Advanced points
  (and no All Star points).
   
• All Star
  Open to dancers with 60 or more Advanced points.

• WSDC points may be earned in these divisions.

Competitors are randomly partnered with a dancer from an adjoining level (Hi–Lo). To the best of the contest coordinator’s ability, each High-level dancer will be paired with a Low-level dancer.

• High: Advanced, Allstar, and Champion level dancers
   
• Low: Newcomer, Novice, and Intermediate level dancers
